Did you know the World Wide Knit in Public Day?

World Wide Knit in Public Day originated in 2005 by Danielle Landes and falls every second Saturday in June.

A not-to-be-missed day for those who love to knit: it is World Wide Knit in Public Day, an event dedicated to all knitters around the world to enjoy the beauty of this hobby outdoors.

The intent of this day is precisely to show that knitting is suitable for all ages, but also an opportunity to share it with other people.

A fun and unusual way to spread a beautiful activity even to those who have never tried knitting before!

DID YOU KNOW...

... is becoming more and more popular with each passing year. In 2005 there were only 25 local events taking place all over the world. In 2007 this number quickly reached 200, until 2016, where the 1000 event mark was passed!

How to celebrate the World Wide Knit in Public Day

1. Plan a day out with friends: choose a park or other outdoor venue and share your passion!

2. Take a look and check if there are events near your city! It could be an opportunity to make new acquaintances!

3. Organise a small event. All it takes is a few snacks, a nice bottle of wine in the sunshine and, of course, lots of yarns to knit together!
